Why the Google Business Profile matters for detailers
For a local search, Google shows three businesses on the map before any website. Which three depends on relevance, distance and prominence, and prominence is mostly reviews and activity. A detailing business with the right category, complete services, recent photos and 60 reviews will beat a competitor with a better website and a neglected profile, on the search that matters most.
Mobile detailers have a specific rule to follow: a service-area business with no shopfront is allowed one profile with the address hidden and the service area set, per Google's guidelines. Set up wrong, the profile can be suspended.

How we manage a detailing Google Business Profile
Why the profile is worth managing properly
The map pack appears above the organic results for almost every "near me" search, and it produces calls directly from the listing without a website visit. In the detailing accounts we run, a meaningful share of tracked calls arrive from the profile. It is also the cheapest lead source there is once it ranks.
What management involves each month
New photos from recent jobs, a post with the current offer or seasonal service, answers to new questions, responses to every review, and a check that hours, services and phone number are still right. Profiles that go quiet slide; profiles that stay active hold their position.
Getting reviews without breaking the rules
Ask every customer after the job, by SMS, with the direct review link. No incentives, no filtering, no review kiosk. The reviews guide sets out the routine and the policy lines not to cross.
How the profile fits with the site and ads
The profile links to the site; the site's service pages support the profile's categories; the ads use location extensions that pull from the profile. All three point the same enquiry to the same phone, and the tracking shows which one produced it.
Standards we work to. Google Business Profile guidelines (the rules a profile has to follow); Google's local ranking guidance (what decides who appears in the map pack); Google's review policy (what is prohibited). Our own figures come from the accounts on the results page.
